Comment: It’s September 1964 and Squawbottom Station is nothing but a simple wood shanty and not the ornate depot that is to come in a few years.

s1_016_curve_unkdate * With a string of stock cars, 4-10-0 #34 is about to plunge into a short rock-lined tunnel blasted through Devil’s Post Pile. The Ryan Gulch Trestle is the highest wood trestle on the railroad. Its tallest bent is 125 feet tall. * 3072 x 2048 * (2.1MB)

s1_017_squawbridge_may61 * 2-6-0 #25 with a cut of stock cars crosses the Squawbottom Creek High Bridge on its way to Cold Shoulder. Squawbottom Creek has yet to be installed 192 feet below in this view taken in May of 1961. * 3072 x 2048 * (1.95MB)
